Eligibility Criteria (Age Limit & Qualifications)

1. Educational Qualification: Civilian Medical Officer: MBBS Degree from a recognized university + Internship completion. Scientist 'B': Master's Degree in relevant discipline (Botany / Physics / Geology / Zoology / Environmental Science) + 3 years experience. Assistant Professor: MBBS + Post Graduate Degree (MD/MS/DNB) in respective speciality + 3 years teaching experience. Agricultural Engineer: Degree in Agricultural or Mechanical Engineering + 2 years experience. 2. Age Limit (as on 14/08/2026): General / EWS: 35 - 40 Years (Post-wise) OBC: 38 - 43 Years SC / ST: 40 - 45 Years Upper age relaxation is applicable as per Govt of India rules for reserved categories.

Pay Scale & Salary Structure

Group A Posts (Scientist/Medical) Pay Level-10 / Level-11 (7th CPC) + NPA (for Medical posts) Group B Posts Pay Level-7 / Level-8 (7th CPC)

Selection Process

Shortlisting / Recruitment Test (RT): In case of a large number of applications, UPSC will conduct a Recruitment Test. Interview: Candidates shortlisted will be called for Personal Interview (100 Marks). Document Verification & Medical Exam: Verification of original certificates followed by medical fitness test.

Syllabus & Exam Scheme

If a Recruitment Test (RT) is conducted, it will be objective type carrying equal marks. Subject matter questions will pertain to the essential qualifications prescribed for the specific post.
